Dear Ellaina,
I hope you don’t mind this letter going public. I saw the link to ellainagrace.com and I was thinking about a lot about you today and wanted to bring some love to this website again.
Ever since I was a kid I had always tried to keep a diary. I would fill it out for about 3 days and then forget about it and move on. The day after you left, I began writing letters to you, just as I am now, and found a reason to keep coming back. I have found a whole new sense of contentment and peace from writing to you. Believe it or not, you’re still helping me to be a better person everyday by allowing me to reflect with no judgement.
Our friendship didn’t end because you had to go, it just adapted to its new challenges. I still see you from time to time, especially when I need a check in. The impact you left on me will never disappear, you changed me for the good.
It’s been nearly three years since your untimely departure, and still not a day goes by where I don’t miss you. And I know I’m not alone in that statement. I love you Ellaina Grace.
